Refund Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
This policy is a starting template and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before you take real payments or onboard real users, get it reviewed by an Australian lawyer familiar with consumer law. The mechanics described below match what the platform actually does today.
1. How bookings and refunds work
Every booking on Tunebooker goes through escrow:
- When the venue pays for a confirmed booking, the funds are charged to the venue's card and held by Tunebooker.
- Funds remain in escrow until the earlier of:
- the venue clicking Release payment on the booking page; or
- 48 hours after the scheduled event time, when Tunebooker automatically releases the funds.
- Once released, the artist's share is transferred to their Stripe Connect account and paid out to their bank per Stripe's normal schedule.
2. Cancellation before the gig
While funds are still in escrow, either party can cancel the booking and trigger an automatic full refund to the venue's original payment method. This is the Cancel & refund button on the booking page.
Refunds typically appear on the venue's statement within 2-5 business days, depending on the card issuer.
3. Disputes after payment release
Once funds have been released to the artist (either manually by the venue or automatically 48 hours after the event), Tunebooker no longer holds the money and cannot unilaterally refund it.
If you believe the artist did not perform as agreed (e.g. no-show, gross misconduct, materially different service from what was booked), contact us at the support email below within 7 days of the event. We will investigate, may contact both parties, and where appropriate will arrange a refund or partial refund and recover the amount from the artist's account.
4. Platform fee
Tunebooker charges a platform fee of 10% of the booking value, which is deducted from the amount transferred to the artist. When a booking is refunded, the full amount paid by the venue is returned to them and no platform fee is retained.
5. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection law. If those laws give you a guarantee that we cannot exclude, this policy operates subject to that guarantee.
6. Contact
For refund enquiries, contact support@tunebooker.com. Please include the booking ID (visible on the booking page) and a brief description of the issue.
Tunebooker is a trading name of Listiqa Pty Ltd, an Australian proprietary company. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more.
